More often than not special
children are either abandoned or are treated with differences. To help these
children to become self-reliant, AKANKSHA a center for special children was
established on 4
th April 2008. The center fosters right environment
to enable them to learn life skills. Our appropriate qualified special
educators pay individual attention and ensure that every child is given a
chance to live a life with dignity in his/her own terms considering their
varying needs. We are trying hard to mobilize, Special Furniture, Adequate
Teaching Aids, and Audio Visual equipments for more creative learning and recreational
purposes. Currently, we have 38 special children on role. These children have
been affected by different issues including Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy,
Autism, and Multiple Disabilities. Apart from the special syllabus that is
taught in the school, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Vocational Counseling,
are also provided. We seek to empower these children with the right skills to
fight their varying issues and lead a normal life
